Privacy Policy
The short version: Bilâl collects nothing. There is no account, no server of ours, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking. Your prayer times and Qibla are computed entirely on your device, and nothing you do in the app is ever sent to us.
Bilâl is a prayer-times and Qibla app for iPhone and Android, built around your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information. It applies to the Bilâl mobile apps and this website.
What we collect
Nothing. Bilâl has no account system, no servers of our own, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data — because we never receive any in the first place.
Your location
Bilâl uses your location only on your device to calculate accurate prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. Your coordinates are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us or to any third party for collection.
When you tap “Use my location” or search for a city, that single lookup is performed by your operating system’s built-in location and geocoding services — Apple on iPhone, Google on Android — to turn coordinates into a city name and time zone (or a place name into coordinates). That request is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. Bilâl does not receive, log, or retain anything beyond the resulting place name, coordinates, and time zone, which are stored only on your device.
Notifications
Prayer reminders (adhan, iqamah, and optional pre-prayer alerts) are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No push servers are involved, and no data leaves your device to deliver them.
Internet access
Apart from the optional operating-system geocoding lookups described above, Bilâl does not require an internet connection and does not send your data anywhere. It works fully offline.
Data storage & security
Your settings, location, and preferences live only in the app’s own storage on your device. Deleting Bilâl removes them. Because we hold no copy of your data on any server, there is nothing for us to lose, leak, or be compelled to hand over.
This website
This website serves only static pages (this policy and our terms). It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability; these relate to the website, not to the app, and we do not use them to identify you.
Children
Bilâl does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is not directed at children under 13 and contains no advertising or third-party content.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access or delete personal data a company holds about you. Bilâl holds none — there is no account and no server-side record. To remove all data the app has stored on your device, simply uninstall it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date.
